Urine sediment examination is one of the most commonly performed investigations in the early clinical setting. The automated analysis of urine is of particular importance, especially in a busy clinic or hospital. The UF-5000 is a Sysmex flow cytometry-based automated urine sediment analyser capable of reporting routine parameters, such as urinary white blood cells, epithelial cells, and bacterial counts. Additionally, it has the ability to analyse urinary RBCs in greater details and indicate the presence of dysmorphic RBCs, detect urothelial carcinoma cells and differentiate Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. These features may prove useful in informing subsequent investigations and patient management. In this webinar, Dr. Hani Susianti will share her experience with the above advanced parameters and present evidence for their potential use.
