Lecture Abstract
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) remains a major threat to global health. In the context of urinary tract infection (UTI), the overuse of broad-spectrum antibiotics in non-complicated cases is very common globally. UTI-Info has been shown to have high sensitivity, specificity, and negative predictive value to reduce unnecessary urine culture orders. By providing indication of Gram-stain behaviour, BACT-info offers diagnostic stewardship potential to combat AMR.
In this webinar, Ms Mina Yoneya would share her work using BACT-info to combat AMR. Dr CN Srinivas would share the value of automation in UTI diagnosis.
