Lecture Abstract
Cellular analysis of body fluids (BF), such as ascitic, cerebrospinal (CSF), and continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) fluids, provides important information for medical diagnosis. Automated methods using fluorescent flow cytometry (FCM) have been developed for cellular analysis of BF that allow not only the rapid and accurate enumeration of red and white blood cells, but also bacteria.
In this webinar, Medical Laboratory Scientist PeiVern Fong (Department of Microbiology, Monash Health) will discuss the performance of UF-4000 Body Fluids (BF) mode for ascitic, cerebrospinal, peritoneal dialysis and pleural fluids. The UF-4000 BF mode is shown to be a good alternative to manual microscopy, effectively reducing variability in cellular analysis in exceedingly demanding and high workload laboratories.
