All countries face challenges in making sufficient supplies of blood and blood products, while ensuring the quality and safety of these products. The National Blood Center for Indonesian Red Cross, Central Blood Center of Indonesian Red Cross leads, strengthens and supports all Indonesian Red Cross Blood Centers (IRC BCs) in the implementation of a quality system based on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) . It divides IRC BCs into 5 regional areas (each with its own responsibility) and 30 sub-regions and consolidates a number of areas, e.g. TTI, NAT, QC, antibody screening, processing, training, MIS etc. This centralised quality management of all IRC BCs and the national policy on voluntary non-remunerated blood donation (VNRBD) ensures safe, secure and self-sufficient supply of blood and blood products across the country’s entire blood services network.
In this webinar, we draw upon the expertise of our distinguished speakers, Dr. dr. Ria Syafitri Evi Gantini and dr. Srihartaty to share about Indonesian Red Cross’s pursuit in raising the quality objectives for safe blood and self-sufficiency.
