Sysmex Establishes Subsidiary in the Philippines to Further Improve Local Operations

Responding to the growing demand for advanced health care services in the Philippines, Sysmex Corporation, a world leader in clinical laboratory systemization and solutions, established a subsidiary that will bring its expertise and services to more Filipinos.

Sysmex Philippines Inc., its Philippine subsidiary, started direct sales and support operations in the country this month – a timely move in view of the growing need for quality patient care, which can only be made possible with the use of diagnostic instruments with sophisticated analytical capabilities. High performance instruments enable doctors to arrive at more accurate diagnoses and prescribe appropriate treatments. As a result, patients are able to receive appropriate care, which is important in ensuring their good health.

The opening of the subsidiary also reflects the company’s faith in the strength of the Philippine economy which is expected to grow with the rest of the ASEAN region, where Sysmex is strengthening its presence. “For more than 10 years, Sysmex has kept an “Asia Focus” as our key strategy in developing the business platform in Asia,” confirmed Hisashi Ietsugu, President and CEO of Sysmex Corporation. “Customers are demanding more sophisticated analyzers, wider product selection and high quality customer support. With the establishment of Sysmex Philippines, the needs of the diversified market can be met quickly, and to better offer the knowledge and solutions of Sysmex group to our Philippine customers.”

Sysmex is the world’s largest supplier of hematology instrumentation. It provides laboratory testing instruments and reagents, as well as after-sales support, to medical institutions in more than 160 countries around the world. Sysmex offers a broad range of products which comprise of systemization and information technology support in the diagnostic segment. Its products include testing instruments, reagents, and laboratory information systems needed for hematology tests, coagulation tests, immunochemistry tests, and urinalysis.

The opening of the subsidiary further strengthens the presence of Sysmex in the Philippines, which started when it opened a representative office in Quezon City in 2010. Through its sole distributor, Zafire Distributors, it served secondary and tertiary hospitals, as well as laboratories, to enable them to bring quality testing services to more patients.

Moving forward, Sysmex plans to leverage on its stronger sales and support structure to be more responsive to the market’s needs. It seeks to advance its efforts to raise awareness by holding scientific seminars, thereby contributing to emerging market development. It aims to share with Philippine partners the latest scientific information that it acquires through its global academic activities which now covers fields such as cancer diagnosis and diabetes. It also aims to have a stronger presence outside Metro Manila. Through these initiatives, Sysmex propagates its tradition of innovation in the Philippines.
