Manager, Regional Marketing (Clinical Chemistry)

Key Job Purposes:

Management of the assigned business unit (BU) – Sets optimal conditions in achieving sales & marketing targets of the BU, and initiates plans and activities to exceed BU’s objectives
Management of the assigned product portfolio throughout the product life cycle – from product conceptualization to obsolescence
Key activities include identifying opportunities, specifying products, pre-launch, launch, & post-launch activities, market adoption, and project management

Summary of Functional Duties & Responsibilities:

(1) Product Management & Strategy

  • Plans and prepares new product launch collaterals and annual marketing plans
  • Conducts analyses required for strategic decision support relating to target markets, market segmentation, SWOT analysis, competitive intelligence, positioning, and others that may be brought about by the market dynamism of the assigned business unit
  • Translates science, technology, & customer requirements into marketing messages and product positioning, and communicates clearly with country representatives (sales/marketing people, country heads)
  • Conceptualizes marketing communication tools leading towards the achievement of the product-specific strategy
  • Develops high impact marketing and educational programs leading to system and brand conversion
  • Prepares comprehensive competitive comparison portfolio and communicates clearly to individual country sales/marketing members
  • Sets up competitive pricing for all products within the assigned BU

(2) Business Development

  • Oversees the design and implementation of approved product initiatives, including launch of new products & services, introducing product enhancements, and coordinating pricing modifications
  • Identifies competitor activities and develops strategic actions to address them
  • Provides expert assistance to business partner representatives (distributors/affiliates) as second/third level support, depending on each individual country structure
  • Handles customer complaints and implements corrective/preventive actions across a professional and timely manner
  • Establish strategic initiatives with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to support the continuous success of the assigned BU
  • Conducts comprehensive and highly professional product and marketing training to all business partners
  • Drives the development of appropriate customer / market segmentation, segment-specific value proposition, and associated sales/marketing tools
  • Organize &/or support regional marketing activities such as seminars, trade shows, etc., as needed
  • Provides support and guidance to business partners regarding products and market-related issues
  • Manages Sysmex NPP – strategic marketing site (for assigned BU)

(3) Clinical Engagement

  • Builds a motivating and encouraging environment in the region and within the team
  • Suggests and implements plan of actions that will add value to the team’s performance
  • Takes accountability to projects-on-hand, including each BU’s annual marketing expense budget
  • Accepts other roles assigned that will help improve team’s operation efficiency

(4) Cross-Functional Role

  • Collaborates well with other cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals
  • Leads the new product launch process within SAP

Job Requirement:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years marketing experience within the IVD/ Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Proven analytic skills with ability to understand complex market and product data to produce sound business recommendations
  • Ability to analyze & prioritize opportunities and generate proposals further decision-making
  • High level of planning and execution skills
  • Those with work experience in a clinical/research laboratory / Sales and /or marketing capacity will be an added advantage
  • Excellent public speaking, presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Highly motivated individual with strategic focus, good initiatives, creativity, working attitude and sense of responsibility
  • Self-starter with strategic focus, positive thinking, enthusiastic
  • General working attitude focused on Integrity, Customer-focus, Accountability, Respect, & Excellence
  • Effective team player with a cheerful disposition and open mindedness.
  • Travel frequency: High (50%)
  • Will consider Senior Executive / Asst Manager level with relevant experience
